About Finch
A small firm with a wide network.

Why Finch exists
Finch was set up by people who have spent their working lives on African energy and environment sites: assessing contamination, moving waste, and working through the tenders and permits behind them.
We started Finch because the same problems kept coming back: plans written for another country, budgets built on the wrong costs, and rules read from a distance.
Small by design
Finch is small by design. We lead every engagement ourselves and draw on a network of senior specialists chosen for the country and the problem: engineers, scientists, lawyers, field supervisors and operators. You get one firm accountable from start to finish, and the right people on the ground.
How we choose our work
- We take on fewer engagements than we could, and we lead each one ourselves.
- We say no when we are not the right firm, and we say why.
- We do not take work that conflicts with an existing client.
- We do not publish our client list, and we discuss a client’s work only with their consent.
- We work for energy companies, investors, governments and development institutions.
Where we have worked
Our team has carried out engagements in fourteen countries:
Algeria, Angola, Egypt, Gabon, Ghana, Kenya, Libya, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa and Tanzania.
We take on work elsewhere in Africa when we can put the right people on the ground.
